Gencler beat Feyenoord

Winter break time here in Turkey and so Gencler, having already been knocked out of the Turkish Cup, are kicking balls around down on the Mediterranean coast.

Yesterday they had some sort of friendly with the Dutch team Feyenoords, winning 3-0.

The goals came from Kahe in the 23rd, James Troisi in the 38th and Aussie Bruce in the 48th. New signing Mile Jedinak got a run and it was nice to see the Aussies amongst the goals again.

  1. Aye, right on. Well done you Gencler lads, especially the Aussie Boyz.

However, Feynoord are now not the 'giants' that they were of old. I remember when they dispatched Celtic in the European Cup Final in (1970 ?) when they were the 'underdogs'. Celtic having won the European Cup in 1967 were red hot favourites but these 'kloggie' boyz turned the form book upside down !

Imagine if Gencler had being playing Holland's 'new giants' .... AZ Alkmaar .... it might have been a different story ??!!

  2. Az Alkmaar were obviously too scared.
